Stroud & District U3S
U3A (the University of the Third Age) - for those who are not familiar with it - is not so high -powered as it might sound. It is an international organization for retired people, which in Britain is run on fairly informal lines, with members typically meeting in each others' homes to study things that interest them,to whatever level the feel inclined
Tuesday Afternoons

.This collection is a sample of the work of the Stroud & District U3A Poetry Workshop groups. We meet on tuesday afternoons to do poetry games/ exercises, and present our "homework" to the other members of the group.
These are humorous poems here, as well as serious ones (though the tow are not mutually exclusive). We have tired to reflect the variety of work we cover over the months, as well as the diversity of our members. Contributors include: Marianne Hellwig-John, Dee Goodman, Paul Hansford, Sheila Simmons, Eileen Nelson, Doreen Bryce, Margery Drinkwater, Hilary Lees, Robinette Deere, Tony Morgan, Noami Hull and Valerie Pryce each contributing at least two poems each.
Second Tuesdays
A second set of poems by a group of 8 members. Many of these poems are fairly free in form and unrhymed. Some are rhymed in a straightforward way, while others may be more complex. We believe these reflect the different ideas and styles (and personalities?) of the writers.
Contributors: Marianne Hellwig-John, Paul Hansford, Sheila Simmons, Sheila Maddock, Mary Jarrett, Hilary Hills, Noami Hull and Valerie Pryce .
