Held
around the Cross in the City Centre, the Gloucester Gate Streets
Farmers Market is a friendly and colourful event.
Re-launched
in May 2003, the market has a range of produce befitting a city,
from samosas to apple juice, farmhouse cheese to sausage and
bacon rolls. There are plants, free range chickens, locally
reared meat, goats cheeses, sourdough bread and pastries, seasonal
fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, organic trout, and much
more. The range of produce includes a local geologist with fossils and hand made soaps from Slimbridge. Depending on the season, there are from 20 to 27 stalls.
Come
along in your lunch break, or make a special trip to Gloucester
for this new and thriving farmers market.
