The Made in Stroud Shop
is now open 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
- Award winning social enterprises and community businesses in Gloucestershire and beyond....
- We run certified Farmers Markets in Stroud, Malmesbury, Gloucester, Stow on the Wold and Swindon;
- We set up and run The
Made In Stroud Shop, a social enterprise run for the benefit of the community. We are open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
- We have recently opened The Made in Gloucestershire Shop at 23 Westgate Street, Gloucester. We are currently building the website for this shop, so take a look. We are open from 9:30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, so come along and have a look around.
We encourage the use of locally sourced and recycled materials for makers in the shops and at the markets. The makers, farmers and growers set their own prices at our markets and in our shops.
In everything we do, we try to keep to our values of building community, taking care of our environment and providing great customer service.
All stall holders at our farmers markets are verified using a system written in co-operation with Gloucestershire Trading Standards, The Gloucestershire Food Safety Group and local authorities in the county. They each receive an independent inspection visit to their farm or premises and have to adhere to the strict criteria set down by FARMA, the National Farm Retail and Markets Association.
We aim to create sustainable projects which do not depend on long term public funding, but are stand alone commercial enterprises with a conscience.
We take care to use recycled paper in the office and only buy brown paper bags made from recycled paper for packaging in the shop. We buy fairly traded calico bags for sale to customers and we recycle our plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, and glass. We have a policy of using only fairly traded tea and coffee in our rest room.
